License terms
Plain English, and short. Marwede Imaging LLC (“we”) licenses photographs to you (“you”) on these terms, whether you license on this site or by invoice.
What you get
A non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the photographs listed on your license, for the use your license describes, with no time limit. You receive the full resolution file without a watermark. The photographs are by Jake Marwede, who keeps the copyright; Marwede Imaging LLC grants the license.
The licenses
- Personal: Prints for your home or hangar, desktop and phone backgrounds, and personal social posts with credit to Marwede Imaging.
- Aircraft set: Every photograph of this tail number on the site today, from every shoot, with the same personal use.
- Commercial web: Aircraft listings, your website, email and social media for one business. Includes a web-ready size.
- Commercial full: Everything in Commercial web, plus brochures, print ads, trade show graphics and printed marketing for one business.
- Commercial aircraft set: Every photograph of this tail number on the site today, with Commercial full use. The usual choice for a broker listing the aircraft.
Personal licenses are for one person and their household. Commercial licenses are for the one business named on the license, including its staff and agencies working for it.
What no license allows
- Reselling, sublicensing or giving away the file, or offering it as stock.
- Selling merchandise made from the photograph (prints, apparel, calendars) without a separate agreement.
- Using the photograph to train or tune an AI model, or as source material for generated images.
- Implying that Marwede Imaging endorses a product, company or person.
- Claiming the photograph as your own work, or removing copyright information from the file.
Aircraft, logos and liveries
Registrations, liveries and logos visible in a photograph belong to their owners. A commercial use that features another company's marks is your responsibility to clear.
Credit
For personal social posts, please credit “Photo: Marwede Imaging”. Credit is appreciated, not required, for commercial use.
Delivery
Your files arrive by email once your invoice is paid, with your license. Keep a copy of your files and your license; if you lose them later, email us and we will send them again.
Refunds
If a file is faulty or is not the photograph you chose, we will replace it or refund you. If you bought the wrong license, tell us within 14 days and we will move you to the right one.
Exclusive rights and anything else
Exclusive use, buyouts and anything these terms do not cover are agreed separately, in writing. Ask here or email [email protected].
The fine print
